Power BI & Fabric Platform Build

A Power BI and Fabric platform on one source of truth, built to govern itself.

We build the semantic model layer, the workspace and access governance, and the Fabric architecture so your reports agree and your capacity is under control. You get certified datasets, a governed platform, and a team that can run it.

Who it's for

  • A review found your models diverge and your capacity bill climbs, and you want it rebuilt, not just diagnosed.
  • Reports have sprawled across workspaces and you need a governed structure before more get built.
  • You are moving to Fabric and want the architecture set right the first time.
  • Your executive dashboard is manually rebuilt every month by someone copying numbers between spreadsheets, because the model behind it never worked.
  • You are onboarding a new BI team or agency and want the platform documented well enough that the handover does not start from scratch.

Scope and format

Six to ten weeks, remote. We build certified semantic models on one source of truth, the workspace, gateway, and access structure to govern them, row-level and object-level security, and the Fabric data architecture: ingestion via Data Factory, a lakehouse or warehouse, and Azure SQL where it fits. The team leads, with enterprise Fabric and Power BI architectures and semantic models behind them. We hand over the models, the structure, and the documentation.

What you get

Certified semantic models

One source of truth modelled and certified, replacing the copy-paste models that disagreed.

Workspace and access governance

A workspace, gateway, and access structure your team can run as the number of authors grows.

Row-level and object-level security

The right people see the right rows and columns, enforced in the model.

Fabric data architecture

Ingestion, a lakehouse or warehouse, and the Azure SQL or Data Factory pipelines feeding it. Where SAP S/4HANA is the source system, extraction runs through the same pipeline rather than a separate export process.

Capacity plan

Premium or Fabric capacity sized to real usage, with a refresh schedule that fits it.

Deployment pipeline for reports

Dev, test, and production workspace stages wired with a deployment pipeline, so a report change ships through review, not a direct edit in production.

Handover and documentation

The models, the structure, and a working session so your team owns it.

Pricing

Value-based and scoped per engagement, from €35,000. We price against the size of your report estate and the Fabric architecture you need, and fix the figure before we start.

If you ran a Power BI & Fabric Review with us in the last eight weeks, that fee comes off this engagement.

Where your data sits

A remote build in your tenant. No data leaves your environment, access is least-privilege and scoped to the engagement, and we sign your data processing agreement before kickoff.

Governance & compliance

  • Built in your tenant, with row-level and object-level security enforced in the model.
  • Least-privilege workspace and gateway access, scoped to the engagement.
  • A signed data processing agreement before kickoff.
  • The platform documented for your data governance records.

Common questions

How long does it take?

Six to ten weeks.

Power BI, Fabric, or both?

Both. We build the Power BI model layer and the Fabric platform it runs on.

Do we own it afterwards?

Yes. Models, structure, documentation, and a working session for your team.

What if we are not on Fabric yet?

We architect the move as part of the build, so the platform is set right the first time rather than migrated twice.

Do senior architects do the build, or is it handed to a delivery team?

Senior Microsoft Fabric and Power BI architects design the model and governance structure. There is no handover to a separate delivery team.

What happens to the reports we already have?

We certify the models worth keeping and retire the ones duplicating logic, then move any reports built on a retired model onto the certified layer.

How do you size Fabric or Premium capacity?

To your actual refresh and query load, not a list-price tier. The plan holds whether you are on Power BI Premium today or moving to Fabric capacity during the build.

Can you build on top of an existing SAP BW or third-party data warehouse?

Yes. The Fabric layer can sit on top of an existing warehouse rather than replacing it, if that warehouse is sound. The review before this build tells us which is the case.

Do you train our report authors, or only build the platform?

The handover session covers how the governed structure works and how to build within it. Ongoing report-authoring training for a wider team is a separate, scoped add-on if you want it.

What happens if a business unit keeps building outside the governed structure?

The workspace and access model makes that harder by design, but it is a people problem as much as a technical one. We hand over the governance model and the reasoning behind it so your team can hold the line after we leave.
